Sunset: A Poem

Over the clanking of dishes and muffled laughter,

Sun was slowly beginning her farewell display.

Amid the tug and pull of the obligatory should's,

I heeded Sun's gentle beckoning.

Spits and spurts of trout and bass leaping toward the feast at hand,

Varying hues of crimson and amber painting the heavens,

Shades of violet and coral melding along Lake's rhythmic sway,

Buzzing, popping, fluttering, and zipping severing the magnetic connection.

Darkness bending down to kiss the ground as Sun curtseys her final adieu.

It was truly a glorious hour!
